Installation Overview

You can easily install VIMACS. Just click on the Install VIMACS link and follow the instructions on the screen.

This section defines the installation requirements and explains how to:

Verify your system installation requirements
Run the Setup program.
Configure your printers
Input your company information
Input your vendor information
Input your customer information
Input your inventory

Installation Requirements

Gem of The Net VIMACS requires:

A computer with at least the minimum configuration to support Windows 95/98, ME, 2000 or Windows NT 4.0|
A Video Adapter card with at least 8MB of video memory (ATI Video Capture card is recommend for capturing images from live video sources)

A network adapter card and local area network (LAN) connection if you want to run multiple copies of VIMACS on different computers and have the data shared among the systems.
A CD-ROM drive for the installation compact disc.
Adequate disk space for your information. VIMACS will require approximately 18MB of disk space per 1000 items in your inventory. This includes the space used for the images. This can vary greatly depending on the size of the images if you don't use VIMACS save the images. The use of images is not required for VIMACS to function

Install VIMACS

Your browser will ask you if you wish to save the file or run from current location. Select run from current location and press OK. Then follow the instructions on the screen. You can also start the installation program at anytime by placing the VIMACS installation CD in your CDROM drive and then selecting MY COMPUTER from your desktop, double click on your CD drive, double click to run the VIMACS setup program.
